Help Save Rocky Mountain National Park from Air Pollution this April 18th.

Rocky Mountain National Park is one of our most treasured landscapes.  But air pollution threatens our Park's special vlaues.

We can help make a difference to protect Rocky Mountain National Park.

A Park at Risk

Thriving fish and wildlife, beautiful wildflowers, old growth forest, clear streams and lakes, and cherished memories. These all make Rocky Mountain National Park so special. But air pollution threatens these values.

According to the Park Service, nitrogen deposition is occurring in Rocky Mountain National Park at a rate 20 times higher than what is natural. The nitrogen comes from nitrates spewed from smokestacks, tailpipes, and an upwind cement plant in Lyons, as well as ammonia wafting from feedlots and commercial farms. Much of this pollution comes from the urban Denver metro area.

Nitrogen is an ingredient in fertilizer, but too much fertilizer can be harmful. In Rocky Mountain National Park, it is degrading waters, destroying soils, and poisoning vegetation.

Without action to reverse nitrogen deposition, we stand to lose a lot. Please come to an April 18 presentation to make a difference for clean air and Rocky Mountain National Park.

Your Chance to Help!

On Wednesday April 18th at 6:00 P.M., Rocky Mountain Clean Air Action presents “Cementing Justice“ at the Estes Park Public Library. The hard-hitting presentation is about protecting Rocky Mountain National Park from the CEMEX cement plant.

The CEMEX cement plant near Lyons is the largest, closest source of nitrogen pollution to Rocky Mountain National Park. It now illegally spews as much pollution as 130,000 cars. Rocky Mountain Clean Air Action is gearing up to take the CEMEX cement plant to court to clean it up.

Come join us!
